Cathy Bagwell Marsh

Cathy Bagwell Marsh is a nonprofit professional with expertise in communication strategy, marketing, and fundraising. Her work has primarily focused on assisting organizations in North America and the UK in increasing their earned and contributed revenue. Cathy has provided consulting services to arts organizations such as the Alvin Ailey Dance Company, The Shaw Festival, and the Toronto International Film Festival, offering guidance on marketing and fundraising initiatives. 

For seven years, Cathy held the position of Director of Marketing and Sales at the American Shakespeare Center, where she achieved a 54% increase in ticket revenue and developed a specialized revenue prediction formula. More recently, she has worked as a freelance marketing consultant in diverse sectors, including elder care, government, healthcare, education, real estate, and finance.

Cathy has held management positions at Vermont’s Weston Playhouse, the North Carolina School for the Arts, and Atlanta’s Alliance Theater. She holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Performing Arts Management from the UNC School of the Arts and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee. Cathy serves on the boards of Valley Mission and Blue Ridge CASA. If you’re a theater enthusiast, you may have also seen her perform on the Shenanarts stage.

Cathy resides in Staunton with her husband and two sons and is delighted to be part of the BRLS team.
