Elaine Jarvis is a staff attorney in our Winchester office.
Elaine Jarvis was born in Baltimore, Maryland. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.A. in history in 1994 and from The Marshall Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary in 1997. She became a member of the Virginia State Bar in 1997. Ms. Jarvis has served as the Secretary of the Warren County Habitat for Humanity, the Secretary of Roof Over Their Heads of Front Royal, and as President of Strays Welcome Interfaith Ministries.
Ms. Jarvis worked for several years as a civil litigator for large, private sector law firms. She took a break from law to write ten novels, including Ripple: A Tale of Hope and Redemption under her pen name, Elaine Phoenix. Ms. Jarvis returned to law committed to helping those in need. She accepted a staff attorney position in the Winchester BRLS office in April 2019.
Ms. Jarvis enjoys adventuring with her husband and three children. She likes car rides, flying airplanes, hiking, swimming, deep talks, reading, writing, and undertaking ambitious but disorganized yard projects. She does not like to sit still, knit, scrapbook or repair broken engines, blinds, walls or anything mechanical.
