Anne See

Anne See is our Elderly Services and Public Benefits Paralegal for the Harrisonburg office. Originally from Roanoke Virginia, Anne graduated from Madison College in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work and a minor in Psychology. She worked at Valley Program for Aging Services as a Senior Center Director for four years before she began working at Blue Ridge Legal Services in 1979.

As a Public Benefits and Elderlaw Paralegal, Anne has worked extensively in Medicaid, health care, elder abuse, and long term care issues, including home health and nursing home care. She has organized a local citizen advocacy and support group, Friends and Relatives of Nursing Home Residents. This group received national attention when Anne and other group members were invited by U.S. Senator Bill Cohen to testify before the Senate Select Committee on Aging in 1995 regarding the need for greater federal oversight of nursing homes.

In 1994 Anne was named James Madison University Social Work Alumnus of the Year in recognition of her outstanding work in the community. In 2007 she was awarded the Elder Rights Award by the Virginia Elder Rights Coalition.
